Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To reduce a dropping speed of hot metal by a method wherein molten metal fed from an opening part of a heat insulated container is discharged via a lower end opening of a container through an inner communication space of porous ceramic body arranged within the container. CONSTITUTION:A hot molten metal receiving device 8 is removable inserted or fixed in a circular hole 7 at an upper wall of a main body 3 of a holding furnace. Porous ceramic members 2a-2f are piled up within a funnel-like heat insulating container 1 of the device 8 from rough one to fine one of inner communication spaces from an upper end of a lower end thereof in sequence. In case that the molten metal is transferred, the molten metal 13 is fed from its upper end opening into the device 8, this molten metal passes through the inner communicating spaces of the porous members 2a-2f in sequence and discharged via a lower opening of the device 8. With this arrangement, it is possible to decrease a dropping speed of the metal and at the same time to remove obstacles in the molten metal. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the obstacles in the molten metal from being adhered to the inner wall of the main body 3. |
