JAPANESE WORD PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To facilitate the input of paragraphs including KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) and HIRAGANA (curve form of Japanese syllabary) characters by converting a single KATAKANA character set at the end of an unfixed KATAKANA character string into a HIRAGANA character with push of a KANA (Japanese syllabary) conversion key. CONSTITUTION:An input signal received from a key input means 1 is fetched by a key data fetching means 2. A key input deciding means 3 decides whether the key data is obtained via a conversion key or equal to the KANA data. The decided key data output is divided into KATAKANA and HIRAGANA characters by a character conversion means 4. A selection means 5 selects the necessary one of those candidate character strings which are converted into KATAKANA or HIRAGANA by the means 4. In case a paragraph including both HIRAGANA and KATAKANA characters is inputted, a single KATAKANA character set at the end of an unfixed KATAKANA character string is converted into a HIRAGANA character with push of a KANA conversion key.
