Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To efficiently treat org. waste water, by combining a granulation process for promoting the formation of granules while performing the oxidative decomposition of an org. substance with an aeration process for performing the oxidative decomposition of the org. substance under aeration using sludge composed of said granules. CONSTITUTION:In a high concn. sludge bed type oxidizing tank 1, waste water is allowed to flow through a sludge bed formed by granules, wherein aerobic bacteria are flocculated at high concn., as a rising stream to be passed therethrough without aerating said sludge bed. Further, in an aeration tank 10, the oxidative decomposition of an org. substance is performed in the presence of sludge, which is composed of granules wherein aerobic bacteria are flocculated at high concn., under aeration. The sludge composed of the granules formed in the oxidizing tank 1 is supplied to the aeration tank 10 by a sludge supply line 11 and the sludge finely granulated in the aeration tank 10 is returned to the oxidizing tank 1 by a sludge return line 16. As a result, org. waste water can be efficiently treated.
