FIXING METHOD FOR OPTICAL FIBER BUNDLE IN ENDOSCOPE

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a crack by fixing the end part of an optical fiber bundle so that a fixing part exists in a rigid part and so that stress at the time of fixing the optical fiber bundle to the rigid part is applied. CONSTITUTION:An image guide 5 is manufactured by an acid eluting method and has a hard rigid part 8 in its end part, and has a flexible part 9, and also, a boundary part 10 (part having the quality of both), in the center part between them and between the rigid part 8 and the flexible part 9, respectively. The flexible part 9 is covered with a pliable tube 11 consisting of silicon, and the rigid part 8 is covered with a base part. On the other hand, screw holes 3a, 3a of a holding cylindrical part 3 which fixing screws 7, 7 pass through are both provided on a part facing the rigid part 8 of the image guide 5 so that the fixing screws 7, 7 which become a fixing part exist in the rigid part 8. In such a way, stress at the time of fixing an optical fiber bundle to the rigid part comes to be applied, and it is possible to scarcely generate a crack at the time of fixing the end part of the optical fiber bundle.
