Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To allow transport and printing of paper to be performed in a stable condition by forming numerous fine grooves, in a paper feed direction, on the surface of a rubber cylinder of a platen. CONSTITUTION:Paper transported along the periphery of a platen 14 is printed by a printing head. At that time, numerous fine grooves 20 are formed, along a paper transport direction, on the surface of the platen 14. Consequently, it is easy to adjust the contact pressure of a bail roller against the platen 14 and also restrict a change in paper transport capability at a wide range of applicable temperatures and obtain adequate paper transport capability.
