AQUEOUS DISPERSION OF MODIFIED POLYOLEFIN

PURPOSE:To provide an aqueous polyolefin dispersion having an excellent action of modifying the surface properties of a polyolefin resin, by dispersing a carboxylated olefin polymer or a chlorinated polyolefin in an aqueous liquid with the aid of an anionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:At least one modified polyolefin selected from an olefin polymer containing a carboxyl (derivative) group (e.g., ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer) and a chlorinated polyolefin (e.g., chlorinated polypropylene) is dispersed in an aqueous liquid with the aid of an anionic surfactant (e.g., rosin soap) and, optionally, a nonionic surfactant (e.g., polyoxyethylene lauryl ether). By applying the obtained aqueous dispersion to the surface of a polyolefin resin and drying it, the adhesiveness, coatability, printability, etc. of the resin can be improved.
