SERIAL RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE:To depress the lower end of a sheet even when a last line with small lower end margin is printed by obtaining the number of out dots exceeding the margin, and printing data of necessary number of dots that result from the subtraction of the number of out dots from the number of dots of a head under the head. CONSTITUTION:When a sheet is fed at a distance corresponding to the number of dots of a normal head 6 (e.g., 64 dots) at the last line of the sheet 1, the number N of the exceeding dots (the number of out dots) is calculated if the head 6 exceeds its lower end margin, white data (data not to be printed) is substituted for the image buffer of N rasters, and the data of necessary number of dots (64-N) that result from the subtraction of the number N of the out dots from the data of the number of rasters to be printed, i.e., the number of dots of the head, is received. Then, the sheet is fed at a distance corresponding to the number of necessary dots (64-N), and so fed at the distance corresponding to the number of dots (64-N) that the rasters of the lowermost stage of the head 6 coincides with the lower end margin of the sheet 1, printed corresponding to the dots (64-N), and discharged.
