Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make a steering wheel light in weight by forming the ring part of steering wheel from a core in metal, forming a spoke core from FRP material, and thereby lessening drop of the inertia moment. CONSTITUTION:The core 10 of a steering wheel consists of a ring core 4 and a spoke core 3, the latter being equipped with a metal piece 1 consolidated situated in the center of the former, wherein the two 4, 3 are coupled together through a detent 2 at the tip of the spoke core 3 consolidated in a single piece. The spoke core 3 is formed from FRP and provided with two spokes extending radially from a boss 1. The detent 2 is equipped with a recess 2a in the center and formed approx. in OMEGA shape. This detent is held solidly at the spoke core 3 in such a way as embedding inside the recess 2a with FRP.
