MANUFACTURE OF SUPERCONDUCTIVE WIRE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a long size wire material continuously and in a good productivity by using a dispersion made by dispersing a crystalline powder of an oxide type superconductor in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion made by dispersing a crystalline powder of an oxide type superconductor in a solvent is spread on a highly conductive graphite fiber, and after drying to remove the solvent, it is annealed. The density of the oxide type superconductor crystalline powder in the dispersion is made several % to several dozen %. As the solvent to disperse the oxide type superconductor crystalline powder, an organic type or inorganic type solvent, water, or a mixture of them is used. The annealing is carried out under a pressure. As the oxide type superconductor, a material with perovskite type crystalline structure, an MBaCuO type oxide, or a BiSrCaCuO type oxide is used.
