Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a composite semipermeable membrane having superior adhesive property between the support membrane and very thin membrane and hardly undergoing deterioration in the performance due to the stripping of the very thin membrane by using a microporous polyacrylonitrile support membrane contg. introduced ionic groups or nonionic polar groups. CONSTITUTION:A flat microporous support membrane of an acrylonitrile-acrylic acid copolymer is immersed in an aq. soln. contg. piperazine and trisodium phosphate, taken out and air-dried. A soln. of trimesic acid chloride in trichlorotrifluoroethane is cast on the surface of the dense layer of the support membrane and a polycondensation reaction is carried out to form a very thin membrane. The solvent is then evaporated and the resulting composite membrane is immersed in an aq. soln. of sodium carbonate, taken out and washed to introduce ionic groups and/or nonionic polar groups into the support membrane by modification.
