Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [X1 and X2 are sulfonic acid or residue thereof; either one of R1 and R2 is silyl expressed by formula II (R3 is a bivalent hydrocarbon group or substituted hydrocarbon group which may be interrupted by N or 0) and the remainder is H or hydrocarbon group; x and y are 0 or 1]. USE An ultraviolet light absorber. PREPARATION:4,4'-Diaminostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid is dissolved in a solvent such as methanol, e.g., by adding 3-methoxypropylamine, etc., thereto in the solvent and neutralizing the above-mentioned disulfonic acid derivative and then reacted with gamma-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, etc., at 40 deg.C - boiling point of the solvent.
