Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain the optimum image processing output for the observation of a transparent material such as an optical fiber by using an integration averaging circuit and a binarization circuit. CONSTITUTION:An analog video signal inputted from a video signal input line IN, after being converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 110, is integration-averaged by an adder 107 and a register 108, and obtained image data is stored in an image memory 111. Meanwhile, the digital signal obtained from the A/D converter 110 is converted to a binary signal by a comparator 109, and is stored in a binary image memory 112. A CPU101 detects the position of an object to be observed based on the image data stored in those image memories 111 and 112.
