POSITIONER FOR STRIP MEMBER

PURPOSE:To enable smooth and reliable positioning without applying excessive force onto a strip member by regulating the feeding amount of the strip member corresponding to projection or retraction of a position regulating member. CONSTITUTION:Under normal state where a position regulating member 9 retracts, the print section 3a and the protrusions 4a-4d on a strip member 3 are shifted gradually rearward in carrying direction, and when the shift exceeds over an allowable level, a controller opens a solenoid valve arranged in an air path 15 and projects all regulation members 9 simultaneously. The strip member 3 is bent when the regulation member 9 projects and fits in a recess 16 to increase feeding amount of the strip member 3 correspondingly, the print section 3a displaces forward in carrying direction relative to the protrusions 4a-4d. When the operation is repeated one or plural times and the shift is confined within the allowable range, the controller opens the solenoid valve thus resetting all regulation members 9 to original retracted position through the resiliency of a spring 12.
