DEVICE FOR RETREATING SINK ROLL IN EQUIPMENT FOR PRODUCING PLATED STEEL SHEET AND COLD-ROLLED STEEL SHEET

PURPOSE:To rapidly switch stages and to improve the working rate of equipment by moving a sink roll with one end connected to a rotating shaft to a standby position while dipping the roll in a plating bath, and producing a cold- rolled steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:A heat-treated steel sheet 1 is dipped in the plating bath 2 and traveled by the turndown roll 3, sink roll 5, and deflectro roll 4 along the path of the steel sheet 1. Consequently, both sides of the steel sheet 1 are plated to produce a plated steel sheet. One end of the sink roll 5 dipped in the plating bath 2 is connected to the vertical rotating shaft through a bearing 6, and the other end is supported by a bearing 10. The rotating shaft is supported by a frame 9, and made freely rotatable. When the plating stage is switched over to a cold-rolled steel sheet production stage, the bearing 10 is retreated by the operation of a cylinder 11, and the support of the sink roll 5 is released. A motor 8 of a rotating mechanism 7 is operated to move the sink roll 5 to a standby position through the rotating shaft and bearing 6, and the steel sheet 1 is released from the plating bath 2.
