Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of the title detector and, at the same time, to reduce the weight and price of the detector by measuring the change in the propagating time of the electric signal impressed upon superconductive coils from one end to the other end of the coils in accordance with the peripheral speed of the above-mentioned superconductive coils when the coils are rotated around their axes. CONSTITUTION:Superconductive coils 102 are arranged in the vertical direction on the same axis. Each oil 102 is rotated in the same direction at a peripheral speed V and electric signals are impressed upon an input terminal 2 from a pulse generator 5. In this case, the relation between the flowing direction of the signal current and the rotating direction of each coil 102 becomes opposite. Therefore, the difference between the times required by the electric signals to reach an output terminal 3 and to reach another output terminal 4 is proportional to the total length of the superconductive coils 102 and the peripheral speed V and measured by an interval measuring instrument 6. Then the angular speed of the coils 102 is calculated from the difference by means of an angular speed computing element 7. Thereafter, the azimuth theta at the current moment is calculated by means of an azimuth computing element 8.
