Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To restrain from being concentrated in cavity part and prevent damage to members and loosening at joint parts in a piston of ceramic member cast into and surrounded by aluminum alloy by taking such measure as placing the specified ring member in the casting material. CONSTITUTION:A piston 1 is formed in such a way that a ceramic member 5 is cast into aluminum alloy forming a piston body 6. In such a case the ceramic member 5 has both a cavity part 2 and the upper end face 8 of a piston. A ring member 7 of which the material has the lower heat expansion ratio lower than the aluminum alloy part surrounding the lower part of the ceramic member 5 is buried into a piston body 6 made of said aluminum alloy. As a result, the problem of stress concentration to the cavity part 2 may be solved, the ceramic member 5 is prevented from breakdown, and loosening of the joint part of the ceramic member 5 and the piston body 6 can be eliminated.
