Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To measure the sharpness of the grinding wheel by pressing the grinding wheel to be tested against a pad and rotating the grinding wheel and finding the coefficient of friction between the grinding wheel and pad according to an X-axial load and a Z-axial load loaded on the pad at this time. CONSTITUTION:The grinding wheel 13 whose friction coefficient is to be measured is pressed against the pad 12 and moved down to load a constant drag load N on the grinding wheel 13. In this state, the grinding wheel 13 is rotated and then the frictional force generated between the wheel 13 and pad 12 moves an X-axial slider 3 and a Z-axial slider 8 in specific directions. An X-axial load detecting means 5 and a Z-axial load detecting means 11 or Z-axial drag generating means detect the X-axial load and Z-axial load or Z-axial drag. A measurement arithmetic part calculates the coefficient of friction between the rotary grinding wheel and pad according to said detection results and measures the sharpness of the rotary grinding wheel with it.
