Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To surely connect a wire electrode with a lower nozzle in simple manners by sucking the working liquid from the lower nozzle, feeding the cut wire electrode towards a start hole on a workpiece. CONSTITUTION:A wire electrode 3 which is cut between an upper nozzle 15 and a workpiece W is sent towards a start hole 39 on the workpiece W by a pinch roller 13. Then, working liquid is supplied into a working tank 41, and the workpiece W is immersed, and the working liquid in the working tank 41 is aspirated by a pump through a lower arm 43 from a lower nozzle 17. A strong water stream directed downward to the start hole 39 on the workpiece W is generated in the working liquid by the aspiration. The wire electrode 3 which is sent out by the pinch roller 13 is sucked into a lower nozzle 7 through the start hole 39 by the water stream, and wire-connected with the lower nozzle 7.
