Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A thioimidazole derivative of formula I (R , R are lower alkyl; or R and R incorporate to form together with N a 5--7-membered ring, which may contain N, S, and O where the ring may be substituted with lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R is H, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, lower alkylcarbonyl or R and R incorporate to form a carbonyl ring; R is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxycarbonyl; R is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, phenyl, H) and its acid adducts. EXAMPLE:2-(N,N-Dimethylcarbamoylthio)-4-phenylimidazole. USE:A brain function improver having anticerebroischemic and antihypoximic actions. PREPARATION:The reactions are carried out as shown in the equations to give the compound of formula I.
