Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To satisfactorily seal a bar-shaped body by coating gold on the inside surface of a through-hole and the side face of a bar-shaped body, fitting both, bringing indium into tight contact with the part near the fitting part and heating these in a vacuum. CONSTITUTION:A gold coating film 3 having 3mum thickness on nickel as a substrate is formed on the inside surface of the through-hole of a stainless steel base material 1 having a through-hole 2 of 1mm diameter. On the other hand, the similar gold coating film 6 is formed on the side face of a glass rod lens 4 as well. Both are then fitted to each other and the indium 6 is brought into contact with the part near the fitting part, then these are housed in a vacuum heating furnace and are vacuum-heated for several hours under 10Torr vacuum degree and 215 deg.C. Then, the indium 6 melts and infiltrates between the joint surfaces by calillarity while making an alloy with gold. The good hermetic sealing is thus executed.
