PRODUCTION OF HIGH-STRENGTH PARTICULATE SLAKED LINE SUITED FOR SPRAYING ON SOIL

PURPOSE:To make it possible to prepare a high-strength particulate slaked lime having a particle diameter suitable for spraying on soil without fail, by performing granulation by adding a specified aqueous acid or ammonia solution to the system in the preparation of slaked lime from quick lime. CONSTITUTION:In the preparation of slaked lime from quick lime, an aqueous solution of at least one member selected from among sulfuric acid, acetic acid, netric acid, hydrochloric acid and ammonia is added to the system, and the granulation is performed by using, for example, a tumbling tray granulator. High-strength particulate slaked lime having a particle diameter suitable for spraying on soil can be prepared without fail by a reaction of quick lime with said aqueous acid or base solution. By adjusting the pH of the obtained slaked lime by changing the amount and concentration of said aqueous solution and applying it as a pH modifier corresponding to the acidity of soil, the pH of the soil can be adjusted to any desired value.
