PRODUCTION OF CARBON SLIDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain the title carbon sliding material without being cracked even in automatic forming, wherein the density is uniformized, and having dimensional precision of the product by adding a water-soluble resin and water to raw carbon powder to obtain a slurry, directly granulating the slurry by a spray drier, forming the granules, and calcining or further graphitizing the formed product. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble resin, water, and further an additive are added to raw carbon powder to obtain a slurry. The slurry is spray-dried in a hot-air atmosphere to obtain granules having 40-300mum diameter, and the granules are formed, then calcined, or graphitized.
