Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve heat efficiency and to reduce the consumption unit of fuel by blowing a specified ratio of O2 to a quantity of O2 necessary to react carbon part and hydrogen part in a blown-in material on CO2 and H2O. CONSTITUTION:In a refining furnace for iron manufacture composed of a furnace shell 1 and refractories 2, material is charged from an upper chute 7, and iron ore, carbon material and lime are blown in lower bottom blowing tuyeres 3 and/or side tuyeres 4. Besides, O2 is blown in from a main lance 6a into the furnace and the iron ore is melted and reduced through slug 9 to obtain molten metal 8. In this iron manufacture method, O2 is blown in a range of 200-300% of the quantity of O2 necessary to react a carbon part an the material blown into the above molten slug layer 9 and a hydrogen part generated on CO2 and H2O. In this way, the carbon material is burnt completely, reduced and produced molten iron 8 is prevented from oxidation and the iron ore is melted and reduced efficiently.
