SELF-SUPPORTING TYPE CABLE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength of the cable in the caption and prevent a connection member from being corroded without the aid of a complicated extruding machine and boring device by connecting a supporting wire or a covered supporting wire and the cable with a metallic connector, and molding an upper portion of the connector with plastic. CONSTITUTION:A covered cable body 1 and a supporting wire or a covered supporting wire 3 are taken out from drums 10, 11 respectively and arranged in parallel in a longitudinal direction. A space is arranged between the covered cable 1 and the supporting wire or the covered supporting wire 3 to provide a ring like metallic connector 4 which supports the covered cable 1 at its lower portion and whose curved portion at its upper end is engaged with the supporting wire or the covered supporting wire 3. After that, the metallic connection member 4 is molded with plastic by a molding die. Mechanical strength of the cable is improved and the metallic connection member 4 is prevented, accordingly from being corroded without the aid of a complicated extruding machine and boring device.
