MAGNETIC RECORDING CARD

PURPOSE:To make the forgery of data difficult and to add security data, by magnetically recording the second discrimination data so as to superpose the same on the first data recorded on a part or entire surface of a magnetic recording card using a wavelength shorter than that used in the recording of the first data. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer 2 having coercive force of 200-3,000 ersted composed of gamma-Fe2O3 or Ba-Ferrite is applied to a card base material 1 in a thickness of about 10-20mum in a stripe form. A current is applied to a recording coil 4 and usual data is magnetically recorded by a recording magnetic head 3. Thereafter, a current is applied to a coil for recording discrimination data and the discrimination data is recorded on the magnetic layer 2 by a discrimina tion data recording magnetic head 5 different in a head gap. It is extremely difficult to forge the data thus subjected to lap-recording of a magnetic record ing card and security function can be added to the magnetic recording card. By recording the discrimination data on the surface layer part of the magnetic layer, the same security function can be added.
