Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To cope with the casting of every cam shaft by forming in an annular shape the whole body shape consisting of the cooling die having the chilled inner peripheral die face forming the external shape of the cam nose part to be chilled and the ceramic part forming the part excepting the cam noze. CONSTITUTION:A cooling die 2 and ceramic part 3 are integrally formed on the chill mold 1 for cam and the whole body shape is of the positive circle centering around a cam shaft. The cooling die 2 has the chilled inner peripheral wall face 4 coincident with the external shape of the cam noze part where the cam chilling is needed. The ceramic part 3 has a semi-circular non-chilled inner peripheral mold face 5 of excepting the cam nose part. The ceramic part 3 is filled by ordinary method in the cooling die part 2 to provide the V groove 6 showing the apex direction of the noze. This chill mold 1 for cam is arranged to a lower die 7 by sliding each 90 deg. with the V groove as a mark in case of a four cylinder engine and an upper die 9 is arranged. A molten metal is poured into the cavity space for cam shaft forming. The chill mold for cam of one kind can be applied for the casting of every chill cam shaft.
