Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a dispersant having excellent dispersibility for metal magnetic powder, solvent solubility, etc., by contg. alkyl acrylate, sulfonic acid residue and hydroxyl group in vinyl chloride-vinylidene chloride copolymer. CONSTITUTION:In the dispersant for magnetic powder for magnetic recording medium such as magnetic tape, magnetic card, the copolymer consists of 50-90wt.% vinyl chloride monomer unit and 5-45wt.% vinylidene chloride monomer unit based on the total amt. of monomer unit. Furthermore, the copolymer contains 1-30wt.% acrylic acid alkyl ester monomer unit having 1-8C alkyl group and/or satd. carboxylic acid vinyl ester monomer unit, 0.5-5wt.% monomer unit having sulfonic acid residue and 1-20wt.% monomer unit having hydroxyl group. The dispersant has excellent dispersibility for magnetic powder, especially metal magnetic powder, solvent solubility, etc.
