Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To manufacture a graphite-crystallization-type high-chromium composite roll excellent in wear resistance by incorporating specific percentages of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, Cr, and Mo to Fe to form the outer shell of a composite roll and crystallizing graphite over the whole of the outer shell layer. CONSTITUTION:In a composite roll in which an outer shell as a layer for use in rolling is integrated with an inner shell as a shaft core part by welding, the outer shell is cast while regulating the chemical composition of the outer shell so that it consists of, by weight, 2.5-3.5% C, 2.0-3.5% Si, 0.3-1.5% Mn,
