Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To easily obtain purified heavy water useful for a power nuclear reactor, in improved processing capacity, by mixing a strongly acidic cation- exchange resin with a weakly basic anion-exchange resin at a specific mixing ratio and filling the mixture into a mixed-bed demineralization column for heavy water purification. CONSTITUTION:A mixed resin (C) is prepared by mixing (A) a strongly acidic cation-exchange resin such as Diaion SKN-1 with (B) a weakly basic anion- exchange resin such as Diaion WA-21 at a ratio of 1:1-5. The resin (C) is filled in a mixed bed demineralization column for the purification of heavy water, heavy water is passed through the column to adsorb the ions of Li, CO3, NO3, etc., to the resins A and B and the purified heavy water is recovered from the column.
