PRODUCTION OF GOLF CLUB HEAD

PURPOSE: To obtain a golf club head with light weight and excellent impact resistance, by integrating a head body and a metal frame provided an inserting joint to a golf shaft. CONSTITUTION: This golf club head comprises a head body 1 made for example from 70wt.% of thermoplastic nylon resin and 30wt.% of carbon short fibers, and a structure wire a hollow portion 2 constructed by joining a face member 5 molded by an injection machine to a side sole member 6. The face member 5 is molded in integration with an iron metal frame 3 with a shaft inserting joint. The side sole member 6 is mounted to an aluminium side sole 7 with screw 8. By molding in integration of the metal frame with the shaft inserting joint to the head, an impact force loading to a head face on hitting a ball is transferred from the metal to the shaft, so weight reduction of the head can be realized.
