Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To finishing-work a hard brittle material to high quality with high precision free from chipping by forming a grindstone from a ceramics sintered body having a number of fine vacant holes on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The graphite powder which is particle-size-controlled in a prescribed ratio is added into a matrix forming ceramics powder, and mixed uniformly, and shaped to a desired shape. After the sintering of the shaped body, heat treatment is carried out, and a grindstone consisting of the ceramic sintered body 11 having a number of fine vacant holes 12 on the surface 13 is obtained. The fine vacant holes 12 are exposed onto the surface 13 by the dressing work, and the side edge 14 of the exposed vacant hole 12 is formed into the cut teeth. Therefore, the hard brittle material can be finishing-worked with high precision to high quality free from chipping, by the formation of cutting teeth consisting of the side edge 14.
