Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve a light receiving characteristic and a dwelling characteristic as well and prevent an indoor pat from being stained by drain by a method wherein an outdoor unit extending downwardly is arranged at a lower part of the rear end of an indoor unit and a fixture for holding a lower part of a window is arranged at the lower surface of an indoor unit. CONSTITUTION:A lateral indoor unit 2 and a longitudinal outdoor unit 3 are connected in an L-shape. An interior part of the indoor unit 2 is divided into a downstream passage 9 and an upstream passage 10 by an indoor partition plate 8. Since a flat evaporator 14 inclined with its lower end being placed out of the room and a drain pan 16 for guiding a drain water generated out of the room while being connected with a drain pipe 15 are arranged at a central part of the downstream side passage 9, it is possible to prevent a floor surface from being stained. In addition, an indoor unit 2 is mounted below a window 31 in such a way as a front surface of the outdoor unit 3 being contacted with an outer wall 30 in respect to a room air conditioned, a lower frame or the wall 30 is held or pressed by a fixing element 19 arranged below the lower surface of the indoor unit and a front surface of the outdoor unit 3 and then fixed to each other. Accordingly, a height of the indoor unit is kept low and a light receiving characteristic and an indoor dwelling characteristic can be improved.
