Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce pressure loss of a spacer part and enable the increase of a thermal allowance composing a spacer of a rhomboid cell which has a number of curved surfaces which are mutually adjacently made lattices and supporting fuel rods by the use of the rhomboid cell. CONSTITUTION:A fuel rod 4 is inserted in a rhomboid independent cell 18 and supported by a projection 19 and a longitudinal plate spring 20. The upper and lower sides of the longitudinal plate spring 20 are respectively fixed on the wall surface of the rhomboid cell 18 and the fuel rod 4 is horizontally fixed by the spring force thereof. Therefore, since the projected area of a spacer is reduced and the flow passage area of coolant is increased, the coolant is easy to flow and the pressure loss in a fuel channel, especially reduction of pressure loss of a spacer part and increase of a thermal allowance of a fuel assembly are enabled.
