Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent transfer density from being lowered in a high-density area by causing an ink layer to comprise at least a heat-sublimable dye dispersed as particles in a high molecular weight material binder. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer of a thermal transfer material comprises a heat- sublimable dye dispersed as particles in a thermoplastic resin binder and has a glossiness of Gs(60 deg.)>=15%. The use of the particulate dye suppresses the lowering in printed density with an increase in the number of printing operations in a high-density area. The use of the thermoplastic resin binder prevents an image-receiving layer from being rugged due to the ruggedness of the particulate dye. With the glossiness of the ink layer set to Gs(60 deg.)>=15%, sensitivity in a low energy region is improved.
