ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To reduce the equipment and maintenance costs and to improve the maintainability by setting a vertical position of a roll changing by a cylinder loading to a roll and a member fixed to the cylinder and moving the roll in the horizontal direction to put the roll on rails. CONSTITUTION:Rolling rolls for a strip 3 are composed of upper and lower reinforcing rolls 6, 7 and upper and lower work rolls 4, 5; the upper work roll 4 is supported by an operating side metal chock 13 and a driving side metal chock 14. The respective metal chocks 13, 14 are provided with a wheel 8 for roll changing and the chocks 13, 14 are movable on rails 11 in the roll axial direction by use of a hook 16 for upper work roll changing joined to the chock 13. Respective heights of the wheel 8 and rails 11 agree with each other at the rising stroke end of a roll bender 9 and the roll 4 is moved in the horizontal direction by the hook 16 to be put on the rails 11. Thus, roll changing is facilitated.
