XY PLOTTER HAVING PLOT-STATUS DISPLAY FUNCTION

PURPOSE: To save time and recording paper by displaying the figure or the like corresponding to the figure or the like capable of being drawn on the recording paper on the screen of a display apparatus at first to make it possible to know the plot state of a memory even if the figure or the like is not drawn on the recording paper. CONSTITUTION: At first, the code inputted from the interface 16 connected to an external controller is taken in an input control part 12 and the kind of the input code is judged from the input code by an input code judging means 44. Next, a recording figure drawing data forming means 46 forms XY plot data for recording according to the judged figure drawing command code and a display figure drawing data forming means 48 forms XY plot data for display according to the same figure drawing command code. These XY plot data for recording and display are stored in a memory 28. Next, a display execution means 52 reads the XY plot data for display to output the same to a display apparatus 22 to display the same. Therefore, the plot state of the memory can be known without relying on recording and time or recording paper can be saved.
