Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain a binder which is free of a moisture sensitive property and does not induce environmental pollution by using a protective colloid no- contg. binder based on a combination of an aq. primary dispersion of a synthetic polymer and an insoluble polycondensate as a binder. CONSTITUTION: A phenolic component of the polycondensate is first mixed with the aq. primary dispersion of the synthetic polymer as the binder for producing insulating slabs and inserts as well as exothermic materials. The protective colloid no-contg. binder based on the combination of the aq. primary dispersion of the synthetic polymer obtd. by executing polycondensation with an aldehyde (the aldehyde may be partially replaced by a ketone) under ordinary conditions in the mixture and the water-soluble polycondensate consisting of phenol and aldehyde is then prepd. The insulating slabs and inserts as well as exothermic materials for metal casting having no defects may be obtd. by using such binder.
