THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain good characteristic without magnetic saturation by setting the quantity of the dislocation of the core on a gap face below 1/10 as wide as the width of a track and setting an angle formed by both side end faces on a head sliding face and the gap face to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:As core end face angles theta1, theta2 are decreased and the quantity of the dislocation DELTATw of the track is increased, a cross talk is increased. The highly accurate technique of an insulating member 6b is required in order to decrease the quantity of the dislocation DELTATw and if the DELTATw is allowed to a certain width, a yield is more improved. When the value of DELTATw/Tw exceeds 0.1, the cross talk is rapidly increased, so that the quantity of the dislocation DELTATw is set below 0.1. To have the allowable value of the cross talk from an adjacent track below -30dB in the range of this DELTATw, it is required to set the core end face angles theta1, theta2 to 40 deg.
