RIGID VARIABLE DEVICE FOR BUILDING FRAME

PURPOSE: To freely change the rigidity of a whole building by connecting an upper end part only of a base isolation wall provided in a structure with an upper beam and controlling a degree of insertion of a wedge inserted between a ribe provided in a lower end part and a base provided on a lower beam. CONSTITUTION: An earthquake resistant wall 3 is provided in a structure A constituted of upper and lower beams 2, 2 and right and left columns 1, 1, and its upper end only is integrally connected with the upper beam 1. Next, a rib 4 is integrally provided along a lower end of the earthquake resistant wall 3, and a base 5 is integrally provided along an upper face of the lower beam 2 to correspond to each other vertically. A plurality of wedge holes 6 are provided in a contact part of the rib 4 and the base 5 to connect wedges 8,... inserted therein with a hydraulic cylinder 10 through a rod 9. A degree of insertion of the wedge 8,... is controlled by the operation of the hydraulic cylinder 10 to change the constraint on the structure A of the base isolation wall 3 and change the rigidity of the structure A and the rigidity of a whole building freely.
