Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To sufficiently heat food to bring the same to a state suitable for eating and drinking, by integrating a quick lime container, a water container and a food container and containing an electrolyte generating at least one kind of anion of an element selected from Mg, Al, Zr, Ti, Mn, Zn, Fe, Co, Ni, Sn and Cu in water. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating food container is constituted by integrating a quick lime container filled with a quick lime heat generating agent, a water container filled with water and sealed hermetically and a food container provided above said containers to receive food, and equipped with a means for opening the water container from the outside. The above-mentioned water contains an electrolyte generating at least one kind of an ion of an element selected from Mg, Al, Zr, Ti, Mn, Zn, Fe, Co, Ni, Sn and Cu. The addition amount of the electrolyte is pref. about 1-50wt.%. When the above-mentioned water having the ion dissolved therein is used, said water is reacted with quick lime to form slaked lime and calcium in this slaked lime generates ion exchange reaction along with the ion to dissolve slaked lime. The penetration of water in quick lime particles is not obstructed and the rapid generation of heat is continuously generated.
