PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC DISK

PURPOSE:To decrease the attraction force between a magnetic disk and magnetic head slider by coating a metal alkoxide soln. on a magnetic recording medium and providing a protective film having ruggedness on the surface by rapid heating. CONSTITUTION:The film of the magnetic recording medium 3 is formed on a base material 10 formed by forming an Ni-P plating film 2 on, for example, a base material 1 consisting of an Al-Mg alloy. The soln. of the metal alkoxide (A) is then spin-coated on the medium 3 and is rapidly heated at a desired heating up speed to form the protective film 4 having the ruggedness on the surface. The medium 3 is preferably formed of any of alloys (e.g.: Co-Cr), metals and metal oxides. The metal of the compd. A is preferably any of Si, Ti, Al and Zr, and a methanol soln. of Si(OCH3)4 or the like is usable.
