BUFFER CONTROL SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a main control part in a buffer control system by dividing the program control data consisting of various data lengths and storing these divided control data into a group of small capacity buffers and a group of large capacity buffers which are linked with each other. CONSTITUTION:A single or plural small capacity buffers are previously allocated to a channel control part 11 in addition to an adaptor 11-1. When a write instruction is produced from a hot CPU 1, the part 11 stores data successively into the buffers and applies an interruption to a main control part 12 when the storage of data is through to the buffers. The part 12 checks the contents of buffers to perform the allocation of small capacity buffers with the small capacity of data. While the part 12 produces an index of small capacity buffers on the small capacity buffers in case the data have large capacity and informs the addresses of the small capacity buffers to the part 11. The part 11 refers to the headers to be given to the received small capacity buffers to carry out each corresponding process.
