CONSTITUTION: In a staple fiber spinning process, a raw material is supplied to a card row in the form of a lap. The treating width of the supplying machine is varied without varying the passing quantity of the material per unit time and unit width to controllably vary the total output of the machine while keeping the output per unit effective length of the machine width to an essentially constant output level (keeping a constant quality).
