WATER SEAL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of a sedimented dust layer which is causative of corrosion, by directly feeding a dust-free gas, after dust removal from a dust-contg. gas, into a seal chamber so as to prevent the dust-contg. gas from entering the seal chamber. CONSTITUTION:A dust-contg. gas 9a having heat obtd. fro the red hot coke 4 in a pivotally disposed, doughnut-form circular grate main body 2 is passed through a heat utilization system, such as a boiler, to lower the temp. The gas is further passed through a dust collector to produce a dust-free gas 9, which is recycled to a duct 20. At this time, part of the dust-free gas 9 is branched from the duct 20 to a duct 21, and released into a seal chamber 18. Thus it is possible to inhibit the admission of the dust-contg. gas 9a into the seal chamber 18 and to avoid the formation of a sedimented dust layer on the wall surface of a trough 13 and a seal board 14. Accordingly, the corrosion of the wall surface of the trough 13 and the seal board 14 can be prevented, so that the seal mechanism can be desirably maintained.
