MAGNETIC CASTER

PURPOSE:To provide magnetic caster between a heating coil and a metallic filter structure to converge leakage flux and avoid scattering of the flux and improve a heating efficiency and, at the same time, improve the mechanical strength, insulating properties and fire-resistant properties of the magnetic caster by a method wherein the caster is composed of a specific content of fine ferromagnetic powder with specific particle size and remnant of hydraulic castable binder. CONSTITUTION:Caster is composed of 50-wet.% of fine ferromagnetic powder with particle size not larger than 10mesh and remnant of hydraulic castable binder. The ferromagnetic powder whose particle size is not larger than 10 mesh is hardly oxidized, has excellent magnetic characteristics and, moreover, is hardly heated by an induction current and also serves as aggregate of the hydraulic castable binder to improve the mechanical strength of the molded magnetic caster. If the content of the ferromagnetic powder is lower than 50wt.% the permeability is low and flux can not be converged sufficiently. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 85wt.%, the mechanical strength, the insulating properties and fire-resistant properties are degraded and the characteristics required to furnace construction material can not be obtained.
