Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve the producing efficiency of screen tint by comparing and referring to connected runlength data retrieved by a connected relation retrieving device and singular point patterns stored in a pattern memory, correcting the way that runlength data is connected and outputting screen tint. CONSTITUTION:When an original image is input to an input scanner 1, binarization processing starts, and binarized raster data is temporarily stored in the pattern memory 5. Then, a runlength data processor 3a compresses the raster data, and the connected relation retrieving device 3b retrieves the way each runlength data is connected. Singular point patterns stored in the pattern memory 5 are compared with the connected data. As a result, the way the runlength data is connected is corrected 3c to output plain meshed. In such a way screen tint can be produced effectively.
