Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make data for diagnosis rich, by providing a selection means capable of selecting between illumination light with a wavelength region containing visible light and infrared rays and that with a wavelength region of visible light only. CONSTITUTION:At the time of usual endoscopic observation, the illumination light emitted from a light source lamp 17 transmits through the infrared red ray cutting filter of a filter turret 67 to be incident to a light guide 16 and spectral data containing no infrared component is obtained from a signal processing part 43. When spectral data containing the infrared component is measured, the switch 74 provided to a light source apparatus 8 is changed over to issue a command for a CPU 76 to allow the infrared ray cutting filter to retract. By this method, a motor control circuit 73 drives a motor 72 and rotates the filter turret 67 to allow the infrared ray cutting filter to retract.
