Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To economically produce a durable oxygen generating anode by thermally spraying Ta on a Ti substrate, applying a soln. of the compds. of Ir, Ti, Nb, Zr, Sn, etc., and heating the soln. in an oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A wire of metallic Ta and/or its alloy is thermally sprayed on a conductive metallic substrate consisting of Ti or its alloy to provide an intermediate layer consisting essentially of the metallic Ta and/or its alloy. Arc spraying or plasma spraying is exemplified as the thermal spraying. A soln. of a metallic compd. of at least one kind among Ti, Nb, Zr and Sn and an Ir compd. and the soln. of a Ta compd. if necessary, are applied on the intermediate layer and heated at 360-550 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere. By this treatment, an electrode active layer consisting of >=20mol% IrO2 and the balance Ti, Nb, Zr and Sn or further at least one kind of metal oxide of Ta is formed. Consequently, passivation of the substrate is prevented, and a durable electrode is obtained with the dissolution and falling reduced. |
