PURPOSE:To accomplish a high effective printing speed by a method wherein a printer control part reads drawing data where an effective flag of a control information area is set to ON and issues the read data to a printer engine part, the effective flag of the control information area corresponding to a partial page for which the issuance of the drawing data is completed is set to OFF, and the partial page of a frame memory is released. CONSTITUTION:When a printer engine control part 115 instructs a data read part 114 to read a frame memory 104, the data read part 114 monitors a control information area 120 on the frame memory 104. If drawing data is set to an 'effective' state, the data read part 114 reads the drawing data from an appropriate drawing area 121 and issues the read drawing data to a printer engine part 102 for printing the data. After the drawing data for one line is all transmitted to the printer engine part 102, an 'invalid' is set on the control information area 120 corresponding to the drawing area 121 for one line. After that, a printing data control part 103 is informed of the presence of a capacity for one line in the frame memory 104. The control part 115 instructs the data read part 114 to read next drawing data.
