Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain composite ceramics almost free from unevenness in strength characteristics and having a high-temp. strength, heat and shock resistance and high toughness by using specified whiskers grown from matrix particles or fibers. SOLUTION: This composite ceramics contains whiskers grown from matrix particles or fibers and oriented at random. The distribution density of the whiskers is max. in the surface of this ceramics and decreases toward the interior. The pref. aspect ratio of each of the whiskers is 5-100, the pref. diameter is 0.1-5μm and the pref. volume fraction of the whiskers is 5-30%.
